A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING . . .

  • Reports to Senior Director of Operations
  • Responsible for developing and carrying out the vision, strategy, and standards for Market Operations, which includes the Depot
  • Responsible to work with Market Directors to consistently implement best practices to achieve both service and financial goals
  • Accountable for achieving market budgets, KPI’s, and inventory standards, to produce both short-term and long-term profitability at the Market Operations level
  • Creates annual action plans to be executed at Market Operations level to meet or exceed annual budget and forecast
  • Manages operations projects through all stages from development to implementation
  • Drives overall strategy and operational execution of company goals at all markets
  • Communicates regularly with the Sr. Operations Director and Executive Group
  • Keeps management abreast of new trends and current market conditions
  • Creates and defines operational best practices to be executed at the markets
  • Responsible for Market Directors, Operations Support Specialist & Depot Manager supervision, training, and activities
  • Leads and inspires a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values staff development and training, communication, and a commitment to excellence to meet current and future leadership requirements
  • Develops guidelines and best practices to ensure all markets are always ready for business
  • Ensures optimized and efficient inventory, ordering and receiving best practices are being adopted at markets and depot
  • Adjusts forecast based on changes in industry and market environments
  • Works with PSS to ensures market’s compliance with local/state/federal laws
  • Recommends market programs to maintain and improve (Kaizen) guest satisfaction and profitability
  • Identifies market resource needs/challenges and recommends actions to take
  • Manages special projects as assigned, LMS, UKG scheduler, receiving operations
  • Ensures the dissemination and adherence to all company policies
  • Maintains adherence to sustainability programs and all security and safety policies
  • Provides and role models attitude of service to staff and guests
  • Operates within the Company’s Core Values, Company Brand and Business Principles

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF . . .

  • Broad retail grocery background with a clear understanding of market operations
  • Must have 3+ years of experience overseeing multiple market locations
  • Proven track record demonstrating initiative to improve operational productivity
  • Supervisory experience, department manager level or above
  • Clear understanding of sales, grosses, margins, gross points, sales mix
  • Good working knowledge of UNFI/KeHe or equivalent warehouse supplier
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be accurate, very detail-oriented and exhibit superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a diverse group of guests, employees, and leadership
  • Must be a team player, a leader, and a positive role model
  • Displays excellent work ethic
  • Understands the role of facilitator to help resolve issues
  • Must have the ability to negotiate conflicts of interest within market operations
  • Strong analytical skills with intermediate computer skills including MS Office
  • Exemplifies health department standards
  • Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Regular travel to all company locations throughout Snohomish, King, and Kitsap counties
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Possesses full body mobility (bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching) with excellent manual dexterity 
  • Exemplifies health department standards
